Shankarpally police arrested a 20-year-old alleged member of a Pardhi gang who was reportedly involved in a series of burglaries targeting locked houses and shop shutters in Shankarpally, BDL Bhanur, Gajwel and surrounding areas over the past six months.

The accused was identified as Rahul Vijay Pawar, a labourer from Aurangabad district of Maharashtra who was staying under a bridge at Tolichowki in Hyderabad. Police said he had been absconding in connection with the cases.

Acting on information about his movements, a Shankarpally police team conducted reconnaissance and apprehended Pawar near Shankarpally Railway Station at around 8.30 a.m. on August 29.
