Paramakudi DSP suspended on harassment charge

Y. Jaffer Siddique, a 2019 batch DSP, who was posted in Paramakudi sub-division in July, was placed under suspension on charges of harassment and among others on Friday.
It is said that Shobana, wife of the DSP had complained to the police in Vellore district when Jaffer Siddique served in the region there. In her complaint, she claimed that he was having illicit relations with some women and upon questioning, he had allegedly harassed her.
Following the complaint, a case was registered under sections 85, 115 (2), 351 (2) of BNS read with 3 (1) (r), 3 (1) (5) 3 (2) (va) and Prevention of Atrocities SC/ST Act and among others.
