Independent MP Pappu Yadav, who supports the INDIA bloc, on Sunday (August 16, 2026) sat on a hunger strike at a protest site in Patna over alleged irregularities in the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exams, and other issues.
Research scholars, along with BPSC and Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) aspirants, are protesting in Patna's Gardanibagh area over a multitude of issues, ranging from new rules regarding recruitment of assistant professor to inconsistencies in the state civil services exam.
Mr. Yadav said the 70th BPSC exam should be scrapped and re-conducted afresh.
