Panchagramalu issues may decide GVMC polls in 20 wards

The long-running Panchagramalu land dispute has flared up into a major electoral battleground ahead of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) elections. With the local body polls anticipated later (October) this year, residents and action committees are using their heavy demographic concentration to demand a permanent legislative remedy.

Speaking to The Hindu , Panchagramala Bhoomula Committee secretary T.V. Krishnamraju said that the five villages cover 20 out of the 120 wards in the GVMC with more than two lakh voters. “Our issues will definitely decide the fate of the contestants in the upcoming civic polls in October 2026.”
