Pair who died in Nelson firearms incident named

Two people who died following a firearms incident in Nelson last Friday have been named by police. Emergency services were called just before 12pm on September 4 to the <a href="https://www.1news.co.nz/2026/09/04/two-dead-in-nelson-after-police-respond-to-report-of-shotgun-theft/">reported theft of a shotgun</a> from a store on Quarantine Rd in Annesbrook. Police were soon after alerted to a firearms incident on Parkers Rd, where a man and a woman were both found dead when officers arrived a short time later. They were named today as Nicola Yvonne Perry, 48, and Brendon James Perry, 49. Inspector Steve Collins said police's examination of the property had since been completed, with the scene blessed at returned to its owners. "The post-mortem examinations have also been completed," he said.
