P.P. Umer Musliyar Koyyode chosen Samastha general secretary
P.P. Umer Musliyar Koyyode has been appointed as the new general secretary of the Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama. The organization also announced a new consultative committee to manage internal affairs and policy decisions.

P.P. Umar Musliyar Koyyode from Kannur has been chosen as the new general secretary of the Sunni scholars’ forum Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama. He has been serving as the treasurer of the organisation.
He was picked for the post at a ‘mushawara’ (executive committee) meeting of the Samastha held in Kozhikode on Wednesday (September 23, 2026). The post had fallen vacant after the demise of the incumbent K. Alikutty Musliyar in July. M.T. Abdulla Musliyar, joint secretary, had been temporarily holding the charge.
Syed Mohammed Jifri Muthukoya Thangal, Samastha president, told the media that Mr. Abdulla Musliyar would be the new treasurer of the organisation. V. Moosakoya Musliyar (Wayanad) and A.V. Abdurahman Musliyar (Kozhikode) would be vice-presidents. Panangangara Hyder Faizy (Malappuram) would replace Mr. Abdulla Musliyar as joint secretary.
