Oyo 2027: Agboola Emerges SDP Candidate, Rejects ‘Political Negotiation’

Mogaji Olusegun Agboola has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Oyo State for the 2027 election, declaring that the party is not in the race to negotiate its ticket but to win the governorship and introduce a new approach to governance.
Agboola emerged on Tuesday at the party’s substitutional plenary held at the party’s Secretariat, Bodija Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State, as the SDP intensified its preparations to challenge the established political parties in the state ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The party leadership described the exercise as a significant milestone and charged the newly emerged candidate to unite members, strengthen the party’s structures and take its message to communities across the 33 local government areas of the state.
