Overpricing complaints prompt inspections in Payyoli, Perambra

The Civil Supplies department and the Legal Metrology department conducted joint inspections at markets in Payyoli and Perambra in Kozhikode district on Wednesday following complaints that traders were allegedly charging excessive prices.
In Payyoli town, 22 establishments, including 14 hotels and eight grocery shops, were inspected. Notices were issued to four shops where irregularities were detected.
According to officials, shops that had not displayed price lists were directed to put them up within three days. Inspections were also conducted at eight shops and a cinema theatre in Perambra town.
