Overnight water restrictions in Clare will be extended into Wednesday.

Uisce Éireann initially introduced the measures last Thursday due to the increased demand for water amid the heatwave.

The targeted nighttime restrictions are in place from 10pm until 8am, in Ennistymon, Lahinch, Liscannor, Doolin, Lisdoonvarna, Fanore, Ballyvaughan, Kilfenora and Kilshanny and surrounding areas.

The overnight restrictions will remain in place pending a further operational assessment on Wednesday, which will be based on demand, usage and weather conditions.
