Over 95% of farmland in Belagavi cultivated
Over 95% of farmland in Belagavi district is currently under cultivation for the monsoon season, with sufficient seed supplies reported. Officials are coordinating to implement various agricultural schemes to improve soil fertility and farmer income.

Zilla Panchayat CEO Rahul Shindhe said on Tuesday that over 7.16 lakh hectares of the total of 7.52 lakh hectares (95%) of farmland in Belagavi district was under cultivation for the current monsoon season.
He was presiding over the district-level monitoring committee meeting of various projects for the year 2026-27.
There is a demand of 37,543 quintals of various sowing seeds for the monsoon season, of which 37,267 quintals have been supplied. So far, 31,669 quintals has been distributed to farmers.
Additionally, around 5,598 quintals of various types of seeds are available in stock and there is no shortage of sowing seeds.
He instructed officials to work in coordination.
