Over 56,000 students have received provisional seat allotments following the third round of engineering counseling in Tamil Nadu. Students must complete admission formalities by August 27, 2026, to secure their spots.

At the end of the third round of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026 counselling session, a total of 56,294 candidates have been given seat allotments.
A TNEA press release said in the general category, 48,501 students got provisional allotments while 6,183 students who opted for upward mobility were given tentative allotments. Similarly, in the horizontal reservation category (7.5% reservation for government school students), 1,172 students were given provisional allotments while 438 secured tentative allotments.
