Over 3,000 cases booked on a single day in central range against owners of vehicles plying without number plate
Police in Tamil Nadu's central zone booked over 3,000 vehicle owners in a single day for driving without number plates. Authorities have ordered daily checks and warned that vehicles violating these rules will be confiscated.

Police teams in the central zone in Tamil Nadu encompassing nine districts booked on Sunday 3,284 cases against owners of two-wheelers and four-wheelers found plying without number plate. Of these, two-wheelers accounted for 3,088 cases.
Intensive vehicle checks were conducted all over the central zone during which the police teams booked 520 cases in Karur district, 514 cases in Pudukottai, 489 cases in Tiruchi, 467 cases in Thanjavur, 375 cases in Nagapattinam, 299 cases in Ariyalur, 226 cases in Tiruvarur, 224 cases in Perambalur, and 170 cases in Mayiladuthurai district on a single day.
