A Quebec Superior Court judge has authorized a class-action lawsuit alleging a longstanding pattern of sexual assault and misconduct at a popular spa in western Quebec.
In a decision issued Oct. 2, Justice Enrico Forlini authorized the lawsuit against Nordik Spa-Nature in Chelsea, Que., to proceed.
Court documents show 143 people joined the proposed class action between Aug. 13, 2025, and July 3, 2026. The allegations involve at least 36 massage therapists and span incidents alleged to have occurred between 2007 and 2026.
The lawsuit alleges the spa failed to adequately prevent sexual assault and misconduct by massage therapists, describing the issue as systemic rather than the result of isolated incidents.
Philippe Brault, a lawyer with Lambert Avocats representing the plaintiffs, said the number of people who have joined the class action reinforces that claim.
