NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday lauded the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) after the successful launch of the GSLV-F17 rocket carrying the advanced Earth Observation Satellite-05 (EOS-05), calling the mission an “outstanding achievement” and a proud moment for the nation.The satellite was launched by Isro from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on Friday aboard the GSLV-F17. The rocket precisely placed the 2,367-kg EOS-05 into its intended sub-geosynchronous transfer orbit (Sub-GTO), marking another major milestone for India’s space programme.“Yet another outstanding achievement by ISRO and a proud moment for our nation. The successful launch of GSLV-F17 carrying EOS-05, India’s first-ever imaging satellite from Geosynchronous orbit is a reflection of the excellence, innovation and growing capabilities that define India’s space sector," PM Modi said in a post on X.The Prime Minister also highlighted the expanding role of Indian industry in the country's space programme.
