Deep cracks have emerged in the Linda Mwananchi movement, threatening to implode under the weight of the political ambitions it was created to unite.
What began as a fast-rising political platform - cheered by Gen Z - riding on public anger against President William Ruto is now being tested by the oldest afflictions of Kenyan opposition politics.
The outfit is being rocked and undermined by personality cults, regional power games, competing presidential ambitions, deep mistrust and leaders unwilling to surrender their political machines for the greater opposition good.
Meantime, there are revelations of aggressive resistance from the broader opposition and State interference to scuttle the Linda Mwananchi movement, seen as the biggest political threat to the establishment.
