The government, in a statement issued on Sunday by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, urged political actors and residents to shun violence and allow the state to enter a period of post-election reconciliation and peace-building.
According to the government, reports of plans to trigger fresh crises in local government councils and motor parks were particularly disturbing.
