A day after heavy rain left several parts of Gurugram waterlogged and caused massive traffic jams, residents and Opposition leaders stepped up their criticism of the Haryana government and local administration, questioning the lack of preparedness and the recurrence of the crisis every monsoon.
The Opposition targeted the BJP government over the city’s recurring waterlogging problems. Former MP Brijendra Singh, while sharing pictures of school buses stranded near Subhash Chowk, criticised Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and alleged that Gurugram and Faridabad, despite being among the State’s largest cities and highest tax-paying urban centres, continue to suffer from poor infrastructure.
