Oppn. trying to run away from NEET debate by attaching pre-conditions: Rijiju in Lok Sabha

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has accused the Opposition of stalling a debate on the NEET paper leak by imposing pre-conditions. The Lok Sabha has faced repeated adjournments as the Opposition demands the resignation of the Education Minister before engaging in discussion.
Why it matters
The ongoing parliamentary deadlock over the NEET issue reflects deep political polarization and hinders the legislative process regarding critical national education concerns.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday (July 23, 2026) accused the Opposition of attaching “pre-conditions” and trying to run away from a debate on the NEET paper ‘leak’ issue.
As the Opposition insisted on the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Mr. Rijiju told the Lok Sabha that during the discussion, the government would also like to put across its point of view on the matter.

According to him, the government has approached the Congress and other Opposition parties on having the debate.
