District Collector M.S. Madhavikkutty on Tuesday (August 11) inaugurated an ‘Operation Hot Spot’ campaign, an initiative of the Local Self-Government department (LSGD) to ensure proper waste management and strengthen enforcement activities in Kozhikode.
Officials said inspections would be conducted at establishments discharging wastewater, facilities accommodating more than 100 people, and premises where migrant workers reside, with a focus on sanitation arrangements. Local self-government institutions would also inspect water tanks at hotels and public institutions.
Inspections will be conducted at identified hotspots on August 18, large-scale waste-generating establishments on August 20, and water tanks in establishments on August 22. The activities will be monitored and reviewed at the block, municipal and Corporation levels.
