------------------------------------------------------------------------ - OpenBSD 8.0 RELEASED -------------------------------------------------
We are pleased to announce the official release of OpenBSD 8.0. This is our 61st release. We remain proud of OpenBSD's record of more than thirty years with only two remote holes in the default install.
As in our previous releases, 8.0 provides significant improvements, including new features, in nearly all areas of the system:
- Raised the size of amd64 kernel virtual address space from 4G
- pmap(9) direct map now placed at a random location.
- Sped up swap encryption by using AES cpu instructions.
- Fixed m88k multiple CMMU register writes.
