Only two districts have received normal southwest monsoon in Karnataka
Karnataka is facing a significant rainfall deficit during the southwest monsoon, with only two out of 31 districts recording normal levels. State authorities report a 31% overall deficit, with several regions experiencing severe shortages.

Only two of the 31 districts in Karnataka have received normal southwest monsoon rainfall for the period between June 1 and August 20.
According to data from the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA), only Belagavi and Bagalkot districts have received normal rainfall during this period. However, despite falling under the normal category, data reveals that Belagavi received 400 mm as against the normal 441 mm, with a departure of -9% and Bagalkot received 167 mm as against the normal 196 mm with a departure of -15%.
Mysuru district saw a departure of -58%, which is the highest in the State, followed by Vijayanagar and Chamarajanagar with a departure of -55% and -52% respectively.
