Only Kerala University land being surveyed, not of AKG Centre: Revenue Minister

Kerala Revenue Minister A.P. Anil Kumar clarified that a land survey currently underway is limited to University of Kerala property as directed by the High Court. He explicitly stated that the nearby AKG Centre, a CPI(M) headquarters, is not being surveyed.
Why it matters
The clarification addresses public speculation and political controversy regarding the potential investigation of political party land holdings.
The Keralam Revenue department on Tuesday (October 6, 2026) began surveying land belonging to the University of Kerala (KU) in the State capital on the directions of the Kerala High Court.
Revenue Minister A.P. Anil Kumar told mediapersons that the land was being measured by Revenue and Survey officials not on the directions of the Revenue department, but of the High Court. A report on any increase or decrease in the university’s land, after comparing it with the relevant records in the possession of KU, would be submitted to the court by October 15.
