An one-year-old girl died after falling into a bucket of water while playing at her house in Kavangarai near Puzhal on Monday. The police have registered a case and are investigating.

The deceased was identified as Yogamaya, daughter of autorickshaw driver Hari Prakash and his wife Sumithra of Kannappasamy Nagar.

The police said Hari Prakash had gone out for an autorickshaw trip while Sumithra was attending to household chores. Yogamaya was playing inside the house when she is suspected to have fallen headfirst into a bucket of water kept in the bathroom.
