For businesses, finding the right office location has traditionally been about proximity to other businesses. Increasingly, it is about something broader: proximity to people.

As Chennai’s commercial activity spreads across multiple business districts, the question for occupiers is no longer simply where their peers are located, but how effectively a workplace connects them to the city’s talent, residential communities, educational institutions and transport networks. Location is becoming less about a pin on a map and more about the connections that can be created around it.

Chennai is well placed for this evolution. Its commercial landscape is distributed across established business hubs, with OMR forming an important technology and corporate corridor, Guindy continuing to be a significant employment centre and the Central Business District retaining its role within the city’s established commercial fabric. These areas are supported by residential neighbourhoods and institutions that feed Chennai’s deep talent pool.
