A young man was killed and five others, including the driver, were seriously injured after a Tempo Traveller vehicle crashed into an electric pole and overturned near Mahadeshwara Temple on the Ring Road in Annapoorneshwari Nagar late on Saturday (September 19, 2026) night.

According to preliminary information, seven youths from Laggere were traveling in the vehicle toward Nayandahalli when the accident occurred. Ravi was driving the vehicle.

Passersby alleged that the driver tried to avoid a group of youths who were reportedly riding their bikes on the road. In the process, he lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into an electric pole on the roadside and overturned.

However, the traffic police claimed that nobody was doing wheelies at the time and have booked a case against the vehicle driver for rash and negligent driving, resulting in death due to negligence.
