Kamaraj, a resident of Nasiyanur, runs a licensed firecracker shop in the locality. He had stored firecrackers at his house. The crackers exploded unexpectedly, seriously injuring his son, Surya, who was at home at the time. Surya was admitted to a private hospital for treatment.
