A 35-year-old man was found murdered near Channapatna Circle in Hassan city on Monday evening. The deceased has been identified as Manikantha, a resident of the city who worked at a private petrol pump.
The body was found near Channapatna Circle at around 5.30 p.m. Senior police officers, including Hassan Superintendent of Police Shubhanwita, visited the spot.
According to the police, Manikantha had left his workplace at 2 p.m., telling his employer that he had to attend a function at his house. However, he went to the APMC market, from where he was later found murdered.
The police suspect that he was attacked with a bottle and a boulder.
