One dies in van-bike collision in Karaikudi
Two separate road accidents in the Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries. The incidents involved a van-bike collision near Karaikudi and a bus-van collision near Thiruppuvanam.

One person was killed, and three others were injured after a van collided with a bike and overturned near Karaikudi here on Monday.
People from Kariyangottai Govindamangalam near Thiruvadanai in Ramanathapuram district travelled in a van on Sunday night to worship at Ponnamaravathi in Pudukottai district for the ‘Aadi 18’ festival.
Balamurugan from Muppaiyur drove the van. When it reached a place called Amaravathi Pudur near Karaikudi in Sivaganga district, the van collided with a two-wheeler driven by Pethusamy, 26, from Salukai, Devakottai,
In this, Pethusamy died on the spot. Further, three people in the van—Jaya, 55, Panchavarnam, 61, and Vijaya, 47,—sustained severe injuries, while others sustained minor injuries.
They were admitted to the Karaikudi Government Hospital. Somanathapuram police have registered a case.
In another accident, about six people from Madurai had gone to Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram district and were returning to their town in a van.
