Chief Minister Rekha Gupta honoured 118 teachers for their outstanding contribution to education at ‘Shikshak Mahakumbh - State Teachers Awards 2026’, organised at Thyagaraj Stadium as part of Teachers’ Day celebrations on Saturday.
The CM urged teachers to instil in students values such as cleanliness, environmental protection, compliance with rules, discipline, sensitivity and helping those in need, so that the foundation of responsible citizenship is strengthened from childhood. She said ensuring children’s safety through essential awareness about ‘good touch and bad touch’ is also an important responsibility of teachers.
Ms. Gupta said the recognition was not merely an honour for the teachers’ achievements, but also for the dedication, patience and faith through which they shape the future of children every day.
