OMR sheets dumped on roadside; TGPSC suspends two officers

The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has suspended two officers after old OMR sheets from a 2018 exam were found discarded on a roadside. The commission clarified that the incident does not impact current recruitment processes and has initiated legal action against the contractor responsible for disposal.
Why it matters
This incident raises concerns about the security and disposal of sensitive government examination records.
The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) on Monday clarified that the OMR answer sheets found on a roadside in Hyderabad, pertain to the Hostel Welfare Officers recruitment examination, 2018, and have no connection with any ongoing or future recruitment process.
The Commission, for the lapse in procedure, has placed two Section Officers under suspension with immediate effect and issued show-cause notices to four officers concerned. Further, it said the contractor’s work order has been cancelled and an FIR lodged against the contractor for gross negligence in handling and transporting the material.
