A six-year-old Chinese girl has set a women's world record after solving the Rubik's Cube in just seconds.

Lian Yunzhi from south-west China's Sichuan province broke the world record twice in three days at two recent World Cube Association (WCA) certified competitions, according to state news agency CNS.

Lian's average speed was 4.52 seconds before she got it down to 4.27 seconds, making her the world's only female "cuber" to have an average time under 4.5 seconds, CNS said.

The state news agency reported Lian had mastered more than 1,300 Rubik's Cube solving algorithms, spending about two to three hours a day training over the past year.
