The Sri Sathya Sai district officials have prepared a time-bound action plan to turn Puttaparthi into a clean, modern, model spiritual city, with a focus on drinking water, sanitation and civic infrastructure.

Speaking to the media here after a review meeting with the officials of the Municipality, Revenue and Rural Water Works departments on Saturday, District Collector Shyam Prasad said that the civic issues under the municipal limits of Puttaparthi would be given top priority.

“The action plan is to make the town free of single-use plastic, stagnant water, and garbage. We want to ensure 100% segregation of wet and dry waste at households and commercial establishments and use only compartmentalised vehicles for collection,” he said.
