Officials of the Block Development Office in Thalavadi taluk on Thursday inspected the damaged bridge in Old Hasanur hamlet of Hasanur panchayat to explore restoration measures.
The inspection followed a report published in The Hindu on August 6, titled Old Hasanur residents seek all-weather road, bridge restoration in Erode district . The report highlighted the difficulties faced by residents after the small bridge across a seasonal stream was extensively damaged.
Led by the Block Development Officer, the team inspected the bridge, assessed the damage and held discussions with villagers. Officials told residents that a proposal would be submitted to the district administration seeking sanction for restoration works.
