With the much-anticipated grand consecration of the Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple round the corner, top district and police officials on Friday reviewed safety and infrastructure arrangements.

District Collector Nishanth Krishna led the review of the preparatory work across the temple vicinity, accompanied by Madurai Police Commissioner S. Rajendran, and Corporation Commissioner Gaurav Kumar.

The primary focus of the inspection was to ensure that lakhs of expected devotees and pilgrims can experience a safe, smooth, and hassle-free darshan, said a press statement from the District Collectorate.

During his visit, the Collector inspected the newly established modern control room within the temple premises, which will serve as the nerve centre for real-time monitoring throughout the festival.
