A government official deputed for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka was allegedly assaulted while on duty at D.J. Halli in Bengaluru on July 29, leading to the registration of an FIR against four persons.
According to the FIR registered by DJ Halli Police, the complainant, Pakeerappa (37), is a superintendent with the Karnataka Slum Development Board. He had been appointed as the supervising officer for 11 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) carrying out the SIR process in Ward No. 47 of Pulikeshinagar Assembly constituency.
The alleged assault took place around 1.30 p.m. on July 29 near Kousar Masjid, 18th Cross, Roshan Nagar, DJ Halli, when the official was inspecting the ongoing SIR work.
