Authorities have ramped up efforts to minimise the impact. Schools have been shut in at least seven districts of Odisha, while leave for government officials has been cancelled.The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over parts of Bengal, with landslide warning for Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts.
