October 2026: 70,000 rural youth set for placement-linked training under DDU-GKY 2.0
The Ministry of Rural Development has announced that 70,000 rural youth will begin placement-linked training under the DDU-GKY 2.0 scheme starting October 2026. The initiative aims to improve employment prospects for disadvantaged communities across 24 states through public-private partnerships.

Around 70,000 rural youth across 24 States and Union Territories are expected to begin skill training under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) 2.0 from October 2026, the Ministry of Rural Development announced.The upcoming training drive will cover 2,015 batches aimed at providing placement-linked skill development opportunities to rural youth.
