Oceansat-3A likely to be launched by year-end, says NRSC Director
ISRO's Oceansat-3A satellite is scheduled for launch by the end of the year to support ocean observation research. A new laboratory at Andhra University will provide ground-truth data to assist in studying marine ecosystems and the blue economy.
Why it matters
Enhanced satellite and ground-based ocean monitoring is vital for sustainable marine resource management and economic development in coastal regions.
The Oceansat-3A satellite is likely to be launched before the end of this year, National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) Director Prakash Chauhan said in Visakhapatnam on Friday. He was speaking after inaugurating the NICES-Coastal Observation Research Laboratory (CORAL) at the Centre for Studies on Bay of Bengal (CSBoB), Andhra University (AU), along with Vice-Chancellor G.P.
