The early access build of NBA 2K27 shipped with a 158MB library called nvngx_dlssnr.dll, roughly three times the size of its DLSS 4 equivalent, carrying the runtime for Neural Rendering.VideoCardz spotted the file first and noted there was no obvious way to use it outside Nvidia's own implementation. That held for a few hours. The RenoDX modding community had the library running inside Control the same day, forcing it into a game Nvidia never intended it for, with seven selectable styles and the effect landing on character models only.Modders got further in two days than Nvidia's own launch scheduleElden Ring, The Last of Us Part II and Skyrim followed quickly.
