NTR District Collector announces contest for best photo-journalists
The NTR District Collector has announced a photography contest to celebrate World Photography Day, inviting entries from local photojournalists and amateurs. The competition features three categories and offers cash prizes to encourage local talent and document regional heritage.
Why it matters
Government-sponsored cultural initiatives help foster community engagement and preserve local history through visual media.
Every photo tells a story, and even as the world moves on with time, moments remain alive through the photos, NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha has said while unveiling posters for the World Photography Day, celebrated on August 19, at the Collectorate in Vijayawada on Thursday.
Mr. Lakshmisha said the district administration would present district-level awards to outstanding photographers on August 19.
The Collector said photojournalists, amateur photographers, and studio photographers residing within the district are eligible to participate in the contest, and entries must be submitted before August 5.
The contest will be held in three categories—Andhra Pradesh Heritage, Tourism and Culture; Youth, P4, Economic Development and Welfare; and Best News Photograph. Each participant may submit up to three photographs in each category, with a maximum of nine photographs across all three categories.
