NSE IPO: Stock exchange seeks up to $55 billion valuation, markets shares at Rs 2,000-2,100 during roadshow
The National Stock Exchange of India is targeting a valuation of up to $55 billion for its upcoming IPO, with share pricing discussions currently underway. The launch has been slightly delayed due to administrative updates in the draft prospectus.
Why it matters
As one of India's largest financial institutions, the NSE's public listing is a significant event for global institutional investors and the Indian capital market.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) is reportedly seeking a valuation of up to $55 billion (Rs 5.26 lakh crore in Indian rupees) for its much-awaited initial public offering (IPO), Bloomberg News reported, as said by people familiar with the matter. The country's largest stock exchange has marketed the shares at around Rs 2,000-2,100 apiece during meetings with potential investors, said the people who asked not to be identified as the information is private. The proposed valuation would place NSE among India's most valuable listed companies and make its public market debut one of the country's biggest IPOs. NSE has wrapped up most of its global roadshow, with only investor meetings in the Middle East remaining on the schedule, according to sources familiar with the matter. Discussions are still ongoing and details of the deal could be changed, reported Bloomberg News.
