NRLW: Warriors Women respond with huge win over North Queensland Cowboys
The Warriors Women secured a dominant 42-4 victory over the North Queensland Cowboys in the NRLW, marking their largest win in competition history. The performance was highlighted by a strong offensive display from the team's left edge.
Why it matters
This result is a significant turnaround for the Warriors following a previous defeat, impacting their standing in the league.
The Warriors Women have responded to last week’s NRLW defeat by claiming their equal-biggest win in the competition’s history with a 42-4 win over the North Queensland Cowboys in Auckland.
After a big loss to the Raiders, the Warriors needed a response, which they got as their left edge tore the Cowboys to shreds and produced six of their nine tries.
Winger Lavinia Tauhalaliku, who missed last week’s defeat with concussion, claimed four tries and Stacey Waaka, playing in her second Warriors match, had two tries and three try assists. Shakira Baker also played a key role in the Warriors’ dominance, often creating the space for Waaka and Tauhalaliku to reap the rewards.
