Ms. Muktha, 75, passed away due to illness at a private hospital. She was unmarried and is survived by a brother and sister.
She served as an English teacher and later as headmistress in government high schools at various places for over 25 years before taking voluntary retirement, according to sources close to her.
Among her well-known novels are Sukhada Sopana , Kshamaya Dharitri , Dada Serida Nauke , Jeevanachakra , Amrithamayi , and Vimukti .
