Why it matters
Djokovic's sustained dominance in professional tennis represents a historic achievement in sports longevity and physical performance.
Novak Djokovic is the champion of the China Open once again after winning his final against Alex de Minaur.
Their match was, however, cut short when De Minaur was forced to retire. Djokovic was leading 7-6(7-3), 0-1 at the time of the retirement in Beijing. The Serbian is now a seven-time champion of the China Open , where he boasts a simply sensational 34-0 win-loss record.
It is the first ATP title of the 2026 season for the legendary figure, and the 102nd of his glittering career. And his latest success also means the 39-year-old has just set a new all-time tennis record, demonstrating just how astonishing his career has been throughout the years.
