Norway's Princess Astrid dies two days after attending brother King Harald's funeral
Princess Astrid of Norway has passed away at the age of 94, just two days after attending the funeral of her brother, King Harald V. The royal palace announced her death, noting her long history of public service and her role as Norway's first lady in the mid-20th century.

The new king, Haakon VIII, said that "throughout her long life, Princess Astrid represented the Royal House in a warm and dutiful manner".
Harald died last month, aged 89, after more than 35 years as king. His funeral was Astrid's last public engagement.
The princess will be buried at state expense and will be flown at half-mast across Norway, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said.
Astrid was the last surviving child of King Olav V, who reigned from 1957 to 1991.
