Heavy rains continued to lash Telangana for the second consecutive day on Thursday with several districts recording more than 100 mm of rainfall, triggering flooding in low-lying areas and prompting district administrations to step up monitoring and relief measures.
The heaviest rainfall was reported from Mancherial, Jagtial, Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal and Peddapalli districts, where overflowing streams, inundated roads and disrupted connectivity affected normal life in several villages.
According to data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), as of 7 p.m., Tapalpur in Mancherial district recorded the highest rainfall in the State at 163 mm. This was followed by 149.5 mm in Kolvai (Jagtial), 131.5 mm in Bharampur (Adilabad), 113.3 mm in Hajipur (Mancherial), 111.5 mm in Velgatoor (Jagtial), 111 mm in Gullakota (Jagtial), 104.8 mm in Jainoor (Kumaram Bheem Asifabad), 103.8 mm in Kaddam Peddur (Nirmal) and 100.8 mm in Akenapalli (Peddapalli).
