North Island college prepare to invite students to Comox campus to kick off fall semester
North Island College is preparing to welcome new and returning students to its Comox Valley campus for orientation on September 9, with similar events at its Campbell River and Port Alberni campuses. The orientation aims to foster connection and engagement, and students will receive a new 2026 resource guide to help them navigate college services.

North Island College will welcome new and returning students to its Comox Valley campus for orientation on Sept. 9.
“Orientation is about more than helping students find their classrooms. It’s about creating opportunities for connection, belonging and engagement from the very beginning,” said Kelly Shopland, vice-president, Students and Community Engagement. “We want every student to know that North Island College is a community where they can access support, build relationships and pursue their goals with confidence.”
The orientation will run from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. outside Discovery Hall.
