Nominate a teacher that made a difference

The 'Vidhya Seva Samman' initiative is calling for nominations to honor teachers in Chennai who have made a significant impact beyond the classroom. The awards, supported by the Lions Club of Meenambakkam, include a cash prize and will be presented in September 2026.
Why it matters
This initiative promotes community recognition of educators, highlighting the importance of mentorship and value-based teaching in society.
Mission Guru Devo Bhava, in association with the Lions Club of Meenambakkam, invites nominations for the Vidhya Seva Samman.
The initiative aims to honour teachers who have gone beyond the classroom, inspired their students, nurtured values and made a genuine difference to their lives.
CA Anil Khicha of Guru Devo Bhava, in a press note, says the initiative hopes to build a tradition through which society respectfully thanks teachers and whose influence extends far beyond the classroom and transformed the lives of their students and strengthened communities.
This year, the organisers propose to honour 10 deserving teachers from schools across Chennai. Each awardee will receive a cash award of ₹50,000, a citation and a memento.
