BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran on Wednesday said there was no unity between Tamilaga Vettri Vazhagam (TVK) and Congress, which was part of the coalition government in Tamil Nadu, on the Prime Ministerial candidate for 2029 Parliamentary election.
While the State Congress president said their party leader Rahul Gandhi would be the Prime Ministerial candidate, TVK was projecting Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, which only showed that there was no unity between the two parties, Mr. Nagenthran said.
In a brief interaction with journalists at Samayapuram near Tiruchi, he questioned whether it was absolutely necessary for the State government to spend ₹5 crore for the Chief Minister’s visit to Mettur via Salem to open the dam on Tuesday. Interestingly, only ₹4.8 crore was spent for the construction of the Mettur dam years ago, he said.
