No major surprises in TN Ranji Trophy probables list

The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association has announced its 30-member Ranji Trophy probables list for the upcoming season. The selection process includes a focus on emerging talent and a commitment to strengthening anti-corruption measures following a recent breach.
Why it matters
It reflects the administrative and developmental priorities of regional cricket boards in India ahead of major domestic tournaments.
The Tamil Nadu Ranji Trophy pre-season camp is set to be held in Chennai from September 3 to 25. The senior selection committee headed by Sunil Subramaniam on Tuesday announced a 30-member probables list for the premier domestic competition.
Similarly, for the BCCI Col. CK. Nayudu Trophy under-23 competition, the committee has named 25 players in the probables list. The under-23 pre-season programme will run from September 3 to 18.
There are no major surprises in the Ranji probables list. Among youngsters, pacer D. Deepesh, who was part of the India under-19 World Cup-winning squad earlier this year, has been named in the probables. However, his under-19 teammate R.S. Ambrish, who had already made his First Class debut last year, has been picked in the under-23 squad.
